Techniques

Photography from a train poses its own particular set of challenges, including window reflections, dirt on the windows, the speed of the train and of course consideration for one’s fellow passengers.  Some of these issues are easier to resolve than others.  However, various tricks and techniques can make the whole process easier and more successful than simply grabbing a photo through the carriage window and hoping that the view in your mind’s eye matches the view that the camera faithfully records in all its gritty, blurry, reflective, disappointing detail.
